The White Card is also known as the ‘General Construction Induction Card’ and was known as the ‘Blue Card’ in the past. It’s required for anyone that wishes to work in the construction industry in Australia.
Who Needs a White Card
- Labourers, tradies, concreters, electricians, form workers, steel fixers, builders etc.
- New workers in construction industry
- All construction workers, supervisors and managers
- Anyone operating machinery on a construction site
- Anyone who will do housing or construction work in the near future
- Anyone who previously had a White Card, but has not worked in the construction industry for 2 years
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to undertake Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) induction training within the construction industry. The unit relates directly to the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work (ASCC 2007).
It requires the ability to demonstrate personal awareness of WHS legislative requirements, and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry.
Licensing requirements will apply to this unit of competency depending on the regulatory requirements of each jurisdiction.
This unit of competency supports the attainment of the basic WHS knowledge required prior to undertaking designated work tasks within any of the sectors within the construction industry.
We currently offer this qualification as self-paced learning with a maximum duration of 3 months. Once you have decided to go ahead with the course return your completed enrolment form and ensure the commencement payment for your course has been made. (Please see the payment form for details). When this is received at our office (email/fax/post), Building Industry Training will provide you with the necessary documents/learning resources/assessments and the details of your trainer so you can begin your studies.
To sign up to this course you need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number. This is part of a Government initiative, where all students studying VET in Australia require a USI number. If you don’t have your USI yet, don’t worry – we’ll help you get one when you sign up.
Once you have successfully completed the assessment you will receive a White Card and Statement of Attainment.
Fees charges and refunds
